As a graduate of the Tom Rose School of Dog Training professional program, Derrick is certified to instruct in several different areas of training.
”I have had over 20 years of training and experience in the competition circuit. I've owned, trained and showed the youngest Alaskan Malamute to obtain the Companion Dog title in breed history not scoring less than 197. I also trained and showed two of the highest scoring Alaskan Malamutes in the country in novice obedience for three straight years as well as two of the youngest Mals to receive Rally titles.” — Derrick Honore

Lisa began with Kai’s after adopting Cyrberus (aka Slippery) from the ARL in November 2021 at the young age of one. Wanting a trainer who specializes in issues she faced initially, she was referred to us!
Over time, this team has transformed from Cyrberus being overactive, jumping, no-off switch to a dog with purpose and direction with a sense of responsibility. Together, they have achieved their CGCU and Rally Novice and Intermediate titles so far!
At Kai’s, you’ll find this team either on the floor training or in the center of checking in clients and answering questions!

Carrie has been with Kai’s for over 5 years with her two Cane Corso’s Walter, 5yo, and Leo, 15 months. Carrie is an essential part of our support team and is always willing to answer questions!

”I started training with Derrick in 2017 with my counter surfing Australian Labradoodle, Tucker. I was amazed in the changes in my dog’s behavior in just a short period of time. We quickly started training on the competition team and earned many AKC Obedience and Rally titles.
I love the bond that training has enhanced with Tucker. We enjoy being able to travel, off leash hike, and attend public events without worrying about his behavior. Tucker is a confident, highly trained dog and we receive many compliments on his training each time we are out.
